Brief waking-up petition

I have a problem with this “there is a God/ there is no God” dispute, because people tend to focus on a less important aspect of things, from my point of view. Whether there is or there isn’t a God above us (whatever “above” may mean, in its entire relativity) WE are here. WE, as in humans. So IF there is a God, I doubt He put us here simply to watch us tearing this place apart. And IF there isn’t a God, then we should reconsider the destruction that we bring to something that, according to science, had 1 in 100000(insert MANY zeros) chances to exist, given the circumstances.

My point is that God’s existence (or non-existence) shouldn’t justify the way we take care of our world. Or better said the way we don’t take care of it. With or without God, this planet is our home, for now. And somehow I doubt that, in the eventuality that God does exist, He would pet us on our heads after we took the whole planet down and simply give us another “toy”.

P.S. For those of you who believe in a God simply because it’s easier to go on with your s#&t while telling yourselves that “God will take care of everything”, get this: THAT is no faith at all – it’s merely a pseudo-spiritual laziness of assuming responsibility for your lack of thinking about the consequences of your facts. If God exists, I doubt He enjoys being a pretext for your stupid actions. And if God doesn’t exist, then oops! it’s up to you to take care of everything. Actually it’s up to you in both situations.

P.P.S. Also, FAITH ≠RELIGION.  Chew on that.

P.P.P.S. Yes, I know that some might say that this is a topic that could be debated ad infinitum, but remember that this post DOES NOT focus on (a) God’s existence, but on what WE do. Or don’t do.
