file0001652481771When I die I’ll need a big coffin.
A huge coffin.
Because together with me my words will die too,
and because, if they die anyway,
I’d like them buried next to me.
I wish my coffin to be cushioned not with silks or satin,
but with sheets of paper filled with my writings –
the last good thing that, maybe, my words will do while rotting
will be to feed with fragments of literature
the rainworms aerating the earth around me.
And who knows,
maybe these will start to dig in shapes of letters under the ground,
weaving arabesques –
masterpieces never to be known
by literary critics.

Never to be known by literary critics, except perhaps those with an ear to the ground? Both beautiful and unsettling thoughts here, Lilly. Before you get to that big coffin of yours, let me thank you – with a big chunk of heart – for what you’ve done with words so far. 🙂

    • 😀 hey you, glad to see you around :*. and thank you for your heart-warming comment :). i sure hope we find a way to make our encounters more often and maybe, who knows, at some point chat even face to face over a cup of tea/coffee/whatever :). possibly before my big coffin of mine actually happens :)).
      (((hugging you)))
