topology

antmoeb-1in my all too evanescent eternity
light broke in my palms
like in a sea of cataracts,
not being allowed to penetrate within me –
in my pellucid veins dance sanguine flavors
with top notes of well sharpened pencil,
after which passing carbon declares its supremacy.
there’s no place for light.

rhythms are green and violet,
in well defined, ample spirals,
measuring counterclockwise the flow of sand –
i always said i was a broken clepsydra –
and among my waves of silence stars die,
sold for ephemeral wishes,
and they don’t feel the greed with which i sip their soul
like some rare liquor
from cups of silex and clay.

days go, days come, shadows shrink and grow,
and in the wrinkles of words gather, methodically,
layers above layers of salt and noble belladonna,
building fortresses for the thoughts watching in chains
how for them the sun becomes just some utopia.

i look at myself from afar,
and bitterness is suddenly
just a concept crucified on the tongue of egoism –
after all, cui bono?

in my all too evanescent eternity
the road biting its asphalt nails
didn’t find you –
and it keeps searching for you,
like a möbius strip,
always feeling you too close to actually be there.

  1. “days go, days come, shadows shrink and grow,

Loved the imagery and words throughout. Excellent piece!
