that’s all that lies in my thoughts tonight
and all that my sleepless tired eyes see is
a little bit of this and a little bit of that,
twisted and covered with social make-up,
a grotesque kaleidoscope of pieces
none of them really beautiful
but then again not really ugly either,
bad venetian mirror replicas
distorting in their mélange of crystal and silver
the awry flowers bouncing from one wall to another
in a failed attempt to form some ephemeral splendor,
and only now and then through the salted insomnia
the liberating sheen of expected dawns

Fabulous lines, Lilli, I hope you sleep, now they have come into the world and out of your minds eye.

    Smiling at you

I have recently had nights like this, both before and after very rewarding days of much accomplishment! You have captured so well those tattered multi-colored jumbly images we wade through to get to a new dawn!

The last two weeks have been semi-sleepless nights for me. I lay down and just as I’m drifting off to sleep I start getting all these jumbled up pictures and ideas in my head. I’ve tried to ignore them, but at four in the morning it’s pretty hard to do. I’ve finally given up and I’ve started writing everything down in a notebook or pad by my bed. No sooner done, then my over active mind finally calms down and lets me snatch a few hours of much needed sleep. I love, though you probably don’t, how your sleepless nights become creations of such beauty. You are indeed talented, Have an awesome week. Be blessed.
