[…] the air was filled with some sort of a bourgeois flavor of shyness, the man almost blushing while feeling her eyes measuring him brassily, as if testing a merchandise. the sound of her smile floated around him like a wraith feeding on his secret wishes under the dim light of the chandelier above them. yes, he wanted her, she knew that. she could smell lust perspiring through the imperceptible tremor of his fingers. but what she was searching for was the promise of his tears reflecting the deliverance of her gift like the echoes of the first ray of sun within the depths of a mountain lake. yes, he wanted her…but he would always have to wonder whether she ever really wanted him… […]
